Futbol, Nostalgia, & Art: The Latest from Full Kit

Full Kit has never played by the rules. Since its launch in 2020, the independent NYC-based brand has built a cult following by making football kits for those who live the game beyond matchdays. From designing shirts for Fred Again and King Krule to repping underground teams and artists, Full Kit has carved out a lane where music, culture, and football collide.

Now, they’re stepping into new territory — and new textures.

On April 18, Full Kit will release its first-ever fleece, created in collaboration with London-based artist Alex Chilvers. It’s a departure from their usual kit work, but one that still feels deeply rooted in the brand’s ethos: remixing tradition, telling stories through clothes, and always keeping football at the heart of it all.

The idea for the fleece came unexpectedly. While traveling to England for a 2023 pop-up, the Full Kit team found an old ski pullover at a market in Brighton. It had the perfect fit — boxy, relaxed, and comfortably midweight. But there was no ski trip on the horizon, and no sentimental connection to the slopes. What if, they thought, this could be reworked through the lens of football instead?

That’s where Chilvers came in. Known for his hand-drawn, emotionally layered illustrations that channel personal and cultural memory, the artist’s style matched the reference perfectly. Working out of his Deptford studio, Chilvers created an original artwork to be embroidered onto the fleece — turning a market find into a limited-edition piece of wearable football nostalgia.

The final product is rich in both form and feeling: a 3-button placket fleece with that rare mix of style and substance. It’s not just a cozy layer — it’s a story, stitched and shaped by time, place, and passion. From the Brighton flea market to a Brooklyn studio to Chilvers’ London workspace, the piece carries traces of each step along its journey.

Only 50 units are available, shipping worldwide via Full Kit’s shop. The drop marks the brand’s first formal step beyond football kits — a hint that more is coming.

But even as they expand their catalog, Full Kit stays committed to the culture that built them. This fleece might not be worn on the pitch, but it belongs firmly within the orbit of the game — that beautiful, ever-expanding world where identity, creativity, and collective memory all find a home.

Available April 18.
